Cruelty Free by Leona Lewis for The Body Shop

I felt an urge to write about the Cruelty Free makeup collection by Leona Lewis for The Body Shop.

So the collection consists of two shimmer palettes (Oh Deer! Bronzer and Oh Deer! Blusher), a blusher brush which is said to be especially made to complement the shimmer palettes, four lipglosses with a minty flavour (from left to right: Deerlicious Bronze, Deerlicious Fuchsia, Deerlicious Petal and Deerlicious Coral) and the White Musk Libertine EdT and EdP which is not a new product at all, it is just their old White Musk Libertine perfume with the Leona Lewis-design on the bottle.

If I am being really honest I find this collection a bit, how to say this, thin? It consists of basically only three new products since the perfume was an old one with only the bottle design renewed.

And to develop this even more, the new Oh Deer!-palettes looks like the old shimmer waves-palette from The Body Shop. Only that it consists of three colours and the Shimmer Waves consists of five which makes the Oh Deer!-palettes, in my eyes, worse than the original Shimmer Waves since it is less flexible to use as eyeshadow too.

As for the lipglosses, doesn't The Body Shop already have enough lipglosses in Juicy Tube-tubes? The new colours aren't even that individual that they are needed in The Body Shop's range of lipglosses.

However, the blush brush is actually something unique to The Body Shop's products. It is a really cute blush brush in the shape of a flower. But even this brush has been done before, by the makeup brand Etude House. It is called "Rose Brush" and is a part of Etude House' Princess Etoinette-line. But I must say, even if Etude House' version is prettier, I prefer The Body Shop's one since Etude House' one is made with goat hair.

Now to compare the collection as a whole to the one Lily Cole made.

Guerlain Météorites Perles
As we can see here, there are at least two unique products here that we never seen before at The Body Shop. Three if you count the Puff on Radiance-sphere in the middle (which looks a lot like their Brush on Radiance). The other two are the Guerlain Meteorites Primer-dupe and the cheek domes. Aside from these products, they had other products they already had but now in other colours. Now I have no experience with these products but I would definitely have bought the Guerlain Primer-dupe if they were sold now. And my impression of the Lily Cole-line is that it is much more rich than the Leona Lewis one. They had new products as well as old products in new colours which makes the line more dynamic than Leona Lewis' line. Leona Lewis wins the battle in design however. The deer-design is cool, awesome, cute and stylish at the same time.

With this said, I have already ordered the Oh Deer! Blusher since I had since earlier wanted to get the Shimmer Waves blusher. And I am definitely going to get the Blush Brush as well when the line is released here in Sweden the 4th of April.

Etude House Etoinette

So my first (second?) blogentry is going to be about Etude House's makeup line Etoinette!

I'm not a makeup n00b, but I haven't heard of this line before! (Maybe because either Bubzbeauty or Michelle Phan have mentioned it.) However, the line is super cute, but you already knew that!

I've heard other people talk about it being very pricey for what you get and basically you get a very cute packaging with a little average makeup... but honestly now; I don't find it that pricey. And it's not because I'm rich or anything, it's because I live in Sweden where all the makeup costs almost all the time at least twice as much as the regular price overboard! Everything here is ridiculously overpriced so for me, if I can get a really cute (reusable!) packaging with some average (which for me may as well be really good considering the competition here in Sweden) makeup for a normal price then I think it's a great deal!

I'm considering the Heart Blusher in pink. I don't have any blush in pink yet because I am varm toned and have fairly fair skin so I don't think it would suit me. But I have thought about getting one for the days when I feel very girly. So why not the Heart Blusher from the Etoinette line? I thought. The packaging is really cute and it is reusable when the hearts run out. My problem then is that it does not have a strainer which would make it more reusable for my mineral makeup and that it is shallow, so if I were to use it to store my jewelries then it would only be able to store very few of them (and I don't really have that much jewelry...). But that is a "problem" for later! ^_^

I am also thinking about getting the Crystal Powder from the same line. Mostly for the cute packaging so that I would have a set of two Etoinette cups, one white and one pink, if I am really honest... But I don't know... This cup actually have a strainer in it which would help a lot if I were to use it for my mineral makeup.  But what is holding me back is that I have yet to read a review with someone liking the glitter and saying that the glitter is not overwhelming and if I buy it anyway it would only be because of the cute packaging. Eventhough I don't find it expensive, I am not made out of money either!

Beginning

So this is it. This blog is my secret pink corner where I can splurge and write about the more feminine stuff I like. And also other things. It will be more of a beauty diary for myself, completely uninteresting for outsiders I guess.
